Volvo’s VCS antifreeze doesn’t mix with other coolant brands/flavours so please don’t try. By all means, switch to conventional antifreeze but be sure to thoroughly flush the block and coolers otherwise you end up with mud.

When we do mechanical inspection on gasoline engines we bring a replacement set of plugs with us for scenarios just like this.

Lended a hand surveying this New Zealand navy conversion today. A very unusual mix of equipment made for a very unique vessel.

For the nerds, power is provided by a pair of Cummins K model 1150s (350hp-ish at 1800rpm). Ship service through a 45kw 4
